The Red Cross of Northern New England remembers Doris Morrill

 In Memoriam
Doris Morrill
February 4, 1957 ~ August 24, 2022

Doris E. Morrill passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 24th, 2022. Doris was a dedicated American Red Cross Volunteer since March 2015.

She first joined the New Hampshire Red Cross and volunteered with her local Disaster Action Team in Southern New Hampshire. She served as a Disaster Action Team (DAT) responder and DAT Lead for the Seacoast Disaster Action Team. She was trained and served as a Mass Care - Sheltering Service Associate, Blood Donor Ambassador and Northern New England Regional Duty Officer. She had been recognized for her hours of service by receiving the Presidential Service Award many times over for her years of service along with other recognitions of service.

Doris became a volunteer for the Red Cross after retiring as a Defense Contractor for Pease Air Force Base in December 2019.

Doris was always upbeat and ready for a challenge. She was dedicated to the mission of the Red Cross and shared her time and experience across the many branches of service provided by the Red Cross. She was caring and giving, always putting others before herself. She was proud to be a part of the Red Cross of Northern New England.

While Doris was an exemplary volunteer, her greatest love was her family.  She enjoyed spending time with them on vacations to Florida, and family camping trips. Doris would make it a priory to attend the many events of her grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Doris was a joy to volunteer alongside of whenever on call, which was often.  She had a strong dedication and commitment to the American Red Cross. You could count on Doris to pick-up the phone and respond to the immediate needs in her local community and later to the region. She was a delight to talk with on the phone and the first to put her hand up to volunteer wherever there was a need.

We will miss her deeply. We truly appreciated and treasured the gift of time she shared with all of us here in Northern New England.  Because we knew Doris, we all have been changed for good.
